Individual Counselling & Therapy
At CARE Psychology, we believe that relationships, understanding, and a strengths-based, client-directed approach build strong foundations for the work we do. Our goal is to develop positive relationships with the children, youth, and adults we work with by meeting them "where they’re at" and tailoring our approach to fit their needs. We take pride in helping them see themselves as the heroes of their own stories so they can see their own strengths, take ownership over their healing, and manage the stresses of life.
It is important to us that we help the individuals we work with to better understand themselves, including how they think, feel, act, and relate. By using talk therapy, we can help develop healthy relationship skills, adaptive coping skills, lead them towards new perspectives, and assist them in regulating their thoughts, emotions, and behaviours.
We want to make sure we find the best approach for each individual child, adolescent, and adult. We use a number of counselling methods and approaches to provide a truly customized experience. If talk therapy is not quite working on its own, we may integrate play, art, EMDR, or other approaches to facilitate healing. As such, our approach to individual counselling may involve a single modality or include a combination of integrative treatments.
